Welcome to "Bhavna", the literary section of 'perthsamachar'.
Bhavna meaning 'thought' or 'reflection' is to welcome you all with your thoughts, ideas, momentary glimpses
that you would like to share. In our life as migrants we have always been on the horns of dilemma trying to survive each day. Adopting to different modes and adjusting to circumstances we are always redefining the meaning of life and in the course we enrich our collection of anecdotes - some hilarious and some with tragic frills yet enlightening in a way. And today we invite you all to share those stories with us and hope you would like to contribute and please do get in touch if you have any further suggestion. We are fortunate to have Mrs.Suparna Chatterjee, who gave us the thoughts and ideas in creating 'Bhavna'. We appreciate her efforts and also thank all the contributors, especially the young ones.
Thanking you
Your Editor.

The Banyan Tree: ancient meeting place for storytellers. Pause from your journey. Set down your pack and make yourself comfortable.
Listen and let your mind travel with tales taking you into other lives, and other cultures. Share your smiles, your laughter, your pain, your joy -- share your travels through the land of human experience.
There are a vast array of comfortable niches to explore..... hammocks gently swaying in the warm breeze, and long strong branches to lean
into as far above the earth as you wish to climb, rustic cedar lounge chairs with thick cushions to get lost in, as you listen to the stories being told.
When you feel the time is right, please share your *original* stories, journal entries, poems, anecdotes, folktales, narratives, memoirs, and
other writings. Anything you write, we would like to see.
Join us.... in the shade of TheBanyanTree with your Bhavna.

Are you aware that we have a book club called
'Kathakunj' in Perth? Every second Tuesday of the month the group of Indian ladies meet (10.30 *12.00 am) at 'Book Café' at corner of Douglas Avenue and Mill Point Road in South Perth. They read and review books of different kind over a steaming cup of tea or coffee. Please contact Editor if you are interested to join the club or if you need more information regarding 'Kathakunj'. Please watch out for the next issues of 'Bhavna'. We have requested 'Kathakunj' to share with 'Bhavna' readers their review and summaries on books they read and discuss. |
